A fire in Nof Hagalil
Last Shabbat was not very peaceful for three Bnei Menashe siblings in Nof Hagalil when their apartment caught fire and burned much of the contents.
Luckily, Yonatan, Mayan and Esther, who made aliyah with Shavei Israel in 2021 from Manipur, India, were not home at the time, as they were at afternoon services at their local synagogue. They were devastated to discover that their apartment was gutted, and are now trying to ascertain just how much damage there is and how they will replace all that they have lost.
In the meantime the municipality and Ministry of Absorption have temporarily housed the three adult siblings in one of city’s absorption apartments temporarily.
Tzvi Khaute, director of Bnei Menashe at Shavei Israel, visited the siblings at their burnt apartment and offered an assistance they might need such as basic needs, rice, clothing etc.
